Irene graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Furniture Design and a Concentration in Environmental Studies. In addition to her academic studies, she pursued Traditional and Contemporary Papermaking on the side full time. She enjoys investigating different methods of papermaking that can be applied in sustainable and practical ways within her furniture practice.
Irene is dedicated to work that considers environmental, social and physical equality. She enjoys working collaboratively with people across disciplines to find solutions to complex problems. She has previously worked with Ms. Wheelchair Rhode Island and R.A.M.P (Real Access Motivates progress) to create physically equitable office desks for wheelchair users in the work space.
